Doris Michaels – the founder, a beauty consultant and cosmetologist expert has worked in the beauty industry for many years before launching her own range of cosmetics in 2006 with years of experience having joined the industry as an adviser and technical consultant for major leading brand and most famous cosmetics and beauty in the industry, where she gained vast experience and familiarity with various cosmetics and skin care. But there was always something missing with the products – for the large companies, ethnic makeup was usually a sideline, and what was sold, while acceptable could be significantly improved upon. The smaller manufacturers neither had the right products nor consistency nor could not be taken seriously.
At the same time, she has also spent years giving professional make-overs and advice on the use of cosmetics in various ethnic stores all over Europe. Her hands-on experience means she completely understands the make-up problems faced by women of colour.
It was this desire to improve, and challenge the traditional status-quo dominated by multi-billion pound industries in cosmetics, that resulted in the introduction of Doris Michaels Cosmetics (“DMC”) in 2003. The first five years was invested in scientific formulation, research and development using novel approach in perfecting DMC brand. This was a long and difficult path; the founder used the services of a qualified expert scientist and dermatologist, jointly coordinating the work of several of the best cosmetics engineers in the industry. The product mixes for all the product types went through many, many generations of researching, testing, refining, modifying and re-checking before DMC ended up with its current product line. Technical and laboratory sophistication on its own would have been ineffective without physical testing on human skin at every phase of the operation.
We got our products perfect before we ever launched the brand. We are proud of this because it took thousands of hours of work (which goes on till the present day) and there is no shortcut to this stage. Accordingly, we have taken all possible legal steps to protect our brand formulations, so you will not find product equivalents elsewhere. If it doesn’t say Doris Michaels on the container, it isn’t, and it won’t be the same, feel the same, look the same or last the same.

We are aware that our products significantly out-perform all other brands in the market, but we deliberately chose to keep our products very affordable because we don’t think you should have to be rich in order to look beautiful.
Since the first launch, we’ve added to our range, introducing more colours, adjusting others, all with the same skill, care, love and near-infinite attention to detail. And we are not complacent – each new production batch is sample-tested with skepticism and any variation results in rejection and re-manufacturing. We want you to fully rely on what you receive from us, whatever your skin tone and type.
Our believe and commitment
While we do believe we must receive a fair reward for all our hard work, money has not been and is not our principal motivator. Therefore, while we believe no other ethnic cosmetic products can even approach DMC’s in quality, texture, colour or consistency, our products are priced much more reasonably than are those of the top shelf ones. We fully realise the risk of being perceived as being “cheaper”, because so rarely is it the case that something that is considerably less expensive is not just “as good”, but is actually much better. Well, this is one of those cases!
We do not advertise much and this is simply because we do not need to advertise much. Once you’ve used our products, we are confident you will be a convert. Most of our new customers are a result of “word of mouth”.
